As part of a semester-long consulting competition, I led my team's Digital Marketing Promotion Plan for the Milwaukee Theater District. The challenge: create an entire strategic campaign to attract more visitors to Milwaukee's vibrant theater district. Our deliverables were creating personas, creative strategy, digital promotion plans, a brand activation concept, and a final professional presentation judged by industry leaders.
My task was to create a multi-channel digital promotion plan. This included a social media push with high-energy Instagram Reels and carousel ads like "Dinner & A Show" and "Behind the Curtain", all designed to bring attention to Milwaukee's theater and nightlife. I also led the design of our email campaign on Mailchimp, writing copy that invited readers to take center stage with bright imagery and bold calls-to-action. For influencer partnerships, I researched and helped select two influencers: @DivergentTravelers for national coverage and @JarvisLawson for local authority—balancing visibility and cultural relevance.
Balancing on key decisions with different team members who had differing opinions was one of our biggest challenges. I helped formulate our strategy by weighing the influence, feasibility, and compatibility with target personas, grounding the team without stifling creativity.
Although we did not win the overall competition, I couldn't feel more proud of what we made. Our end presentation, handled by a mere three of us instead of five like the other groups in the class, was a polished, client-ready proposal. I gained essential real-world practice in strategic planning, group dynamics, and execution of marketing tactics—confirming that this is exactly the kind of work I want to pursue after graduating from Marquette.
